  • SAN MARCOS, Tx. — Sarah Pressler, a senior public administration major at Texas State University is one of more than 250 American undergraduate students from 154 colleges and universities across the U.S. selected to receive the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to study abroad. Pressler will study abroad in Italy with Dr. Di Mauro-Jackson this summer. “My career goal is to ultimately work in administrative law,” she said. “Studying in Florence is a dream come true, as Italy is the very seat of law as we know it today. Just experiencing the Italian way of life will give me a deeper understanding and perspective on the foundations of our current legal system. And beginning to learn the Italian language will serve as a solid starting place for future studies. There's no better place to learn a language than while immersed in the respective culture.”
