French Undergraduate Certificates
Each French certificate consists of three (3) advanced French classes.
Certificate in French Translation Course Requirements:
- FR 3308 French Translation I
- FR 4308 French Translation II
- CHOOSE ONE of the following:
- LING 3301 Introduction to Translation
- FR 3341 Advanced Grammar in French
- FR 3381 Business French I
- FR 4330B Contemporary Issues in French Media
- FR 4341 French Composition and Stylistics
Certificate in French for the Professions Course Requirements:
- FR 3308 or FR 4308 French Translation I or II
- FR 3381 Business French I
- CHOOSE ONE of the following:
- FR 3303 French Composition and Conversation
- FR 4304B French Genre Fiction
- FR 4304C Francophone Literature, Cinema, and Culture
- FR 4370 Cultures of the French-Speaking World
- FR 4380 Service-Learning French
Certificate courses can also be applied to a French major or minor.
Prerequisites for these advanced courses may be satisfied by testing out or by taking lower-division French courses.
