Getting Started
To prepare for submitting the Fulbright Declaration of Interest form, please follow the steps below. Note: these preliminary steps—research, discernment, discussions, and decisions—take several days to complete.
Step 1: Confirm your eligibility
Step 2: Select an award type
Step 3: Review country opportunities
- Read country/award descriptions (e.g., ETA award for Indonesia)
- Establish a basis for country selections (e.g., heritage or research interest)
- Narrow and rank your country and award program preferences
Step 4: Talk with an advisor in your undergraduate program and trusted mentors to receive feedback
Step 5: Review Fulbright’s application components, Grantee Directory, and awardee selection statistics to inform your country and award program preferences
Step 6: Choose up to three country-specific Fulbright award programs in which to declare your interest. Note: you may ultimately apply to only one country and for only one award type.
Once you have completed these preparatory steps, please complete the Fulbright Declaration of Interest form below.
