Program Information
The master of arts (M.A.) program in Spanish is a dynamic academic unit that combines research and applied learning to advance knowledge of the Spanish language, the literature and cultures of the Hispanic world, and to apply Spanish in a professional environment. The Spanish M.A. program provides students with the foundation they need to: serve in a wide range of public and private sector professions requiring a high degree of proficiency in Spanish; pursue doctoral studies; or teach in institutions of higher learning.
The ideal M.A. intends to pursue advanced studies in Spanish to perfect their knowledge and skills in Spanish be able to apply critical thinking to complex problems, develop their analytical and research skills, in order to contribute to a productive global society in a variety of advanced fields.
