Connor Havens, double major in German and Religious Studies and vice-president of our German Honor Society Delta Phi Alpha chapter is a Texas German who researches the unique cultural and linguistic aspects of his community under the supervision of Dr. Valentina Glajar. In the spring, Connor shared his research at the TXST Liberal Arts conference as well as presented a poster at the Honors College Undergraduate Research Conference. This semester, he is offering Texstunden to the campus community. In these workshops, students learn the Texas German dialect and explore the distinct identity of Texas Germans.
