Program Description

This total immersion program in Spanish Language and Ecuadorian culture will provide students with a comprehensive approach and an authentic language environment, which will help them develop their skills in Spanish through practice in the classroom and in real life experience. By having access to historically and culturally rich places students will have a better understanding when learning the target language. Through the traveling experience, course activities, assignments and living with a host family students will be immersed in the languages and Ecuadorian culture in a safe atmosphere.

Learn the language while fully immersing yourself in the local culture. This is the perfect opportunity for students to experience the Ecuadorian culture, improve their Spanish and enjoy Ecuadorian life from a closer perspective.

Course Options

The course options on this program are:

  • SPAN 2310 Intermediate Spanish I
  • SPAN 2320 Intermediate Spanish II
  • SPAN 4390 Studies in Spanish Culture, Language, or Literature (can be repeated once for additional credit)
  • Students receive six Texas State credit hours

Return Date: June 24, 2023

Program Cost: $4,120

Cost includes:

  • $200 non-refundable application fee
  • $300 non-refundable program fee pre-payment
  • Tuition and fees for six hours of university credit
  • Lodging with a host family
  • Two meals a day
  • Orientation and class materials
  • Scheduled visits and excursions
  • International insurance (health and travel assistance)
